Pregnancy Favs
I am a little giddy writing this as the last few posts have been so womp womp (yes exciting about transfer) about pregnancy and IVF. Take all of this with a grain of salt because I am no expert and brought a bowl of Mac n’ Cheese to bed last night so…..hahah!
Eating: During the first trimester nothing would sound good all day, or more like everything sounded gross but then I would wake up multiple times in the middle of the night SO hungry. At first, I started with keeping Saltines (your 1st trimester best friend)on my bedside table, but those didn’t cut it for long. Cue the Strawberry Pop-Tarts, I think I ate more of them in the last 5 months than I did as a kid…and we were a Pop-Tart family. With this to say, find a snack that is easy and quick to eat (chewy bars also rock), boosts your blood sugar a little bit, and can keep in your purse, side table, etc.
THE Pregnancy Pillow: I got the Boppy a little early and found it was too much and using just a super squishy pillow for light support worked great. And then I really popped and it is my best friend. It’s ugly as heck but get’s the job done and allows you to still use your normal pillows. I am a pillow brat and the full-body pregnancy pillows that force you to also use it as a pillow were a hard no for me.
Clothes: I am pretty sure I am the one 30-something-year-old who doesn’t own Lululemon, I don’t know what it is but I cannot bring myself to spend that much on workout clothes! Even when I was working out regularly I couldn’t do it, all I see if the other things ~$100 could get me, and my Amazon leggings have never failed me. For the longest time, I was wearing these but recently found these that I have heard compared to the Align in the sense they are buttttter. They are both $30, high-waisted and so comfortable. I have posted these on IG before but my friend told me about these Amazon shirt dresses and they are awesome - pregnant or not. Incredibly oversized, lightweight, and at $30 you don’t feel guilty if you stain it, wear it one season and move on. I wear them mainly when leggings feel too constraining that day but also can’t just stay in PJs.
Skincare: I started out with Nemah Stretch Mark Cream and do really like it, feels nice and works well under an oil but I dont lovveee the scent so I use it sparkinly. What I use most often is the Hatch Belly Oil, the applicator is a little annoying, as it almost falls out because its so light but it absorbs wonderfully. I know this is genetics, etc but so far no big stomach lines….I write this and tomorrow one is going to appear haha. There are so many things that you are not suppose to use on your skin when pregnant and thankfully I was not using a retinol but ask your Dr. what they comfortable with. Personally, my face didn’t break out but my chest and back were as if I was back in 2014 - pre-accutane which lead me to asking my Dr. in the second trimester if I could use something stronger becuase it was getting not cute. She gave me the go-ahead to sparingly use a AHA BHA acid and I came across these from SkinFix. I had never used the brand before and used to be die heart Dr. Dennis Gross but those are $$ and I wanted to help by back but had other $$ priorities at Sephora! The wipes worked great and would highly recommend for chest and back!
Okay, I think my brain dump on pregnancy is over for now!
xx
