Nursery Tour
Disclaimer: A lot of the furniture pieces in the nursery are antique, thrift store finds (don’t hate me) but I have tried to find similar items and will give descriptions of each to help you find them!
This corner is probably my favorite in the entire room! Every time something new arrives I find myself restyling the shelves a bit which is so fun! The Arched Rattan Shelf I found at a local shop after losing out on one on FBMK but I find they are on there often. We gave it s small clean-up with a fresh coat of spray paint and she was ready to be filled up.
Bedding is none other than Biscuit Home. I went with the green bordered skirt as green is a neutral in my book and will go with any future sheet that may come along.
The art, oh did I go back and forth with this and are Mike and Laura both glad to be done talking about it. Laura is my friend and the artist who you may know better as Laura Vogel Designs - the adorable stationery! We decided on four florals with different little buggies around them, sweet but not too too nursery that they can’t go in a big girl room one day vibes. I found the frames on Amazon and they look great and more expensive than they are!
I had never used the word manifest before finding this bookshelf, actually, I rolled my eyes at the word, but I am a changed woman now haha. For the bookshelf, I knew I did not want the classic floating wall bookshelves and had this vision in my head of a wood piece that was soft, not too formal but not too kiddie, and not too tall. Cue me passing this at the local guild shop and stopping in my tracks. I measured, raced home, measured, and raced back to get it. This is not helpful, I am aware but don’t sleep on your local shops and check them often!!
The chair may also bring an eye roll but what can ya do? Here’s the thing, I love cutting the middle man, I get a high from finding someone by asking around or messaging people on Etsy to make something custom for a very similar price. My greatest accomplishment with this is the glider. I found a local furniture maker and got a quote for my dream chair (English roll arm with separated back cushion and ruffle pleated skirt) and it turned out to be maybe ~$200 more than one from a popular furniture store! I am so happy with it and so glad I asked around before purchasing something I wasn’t truly in love with.
Her dresser/changing table is my best FBMK flip to date! The shape, size, and price were perfect but it needed a lot of work…work that it turned out Mike and I were not capable of. At the same time were sanding down the dresser our bathroom was being redone and I had this feeling we were not doing the best* job so, I asked the guys if they had time on the side to paint the dresser with their [much nicer] paint gun. They agreed but not without laughing a little at me while telling me the whole dresser needed to be resanded because “it was not even at all”! Whoops! Lesson learned to know our limits and hire help when needed.
Paint Colors: The dresser is Farrow and Ball Parma Grey and the walls are BM Barely Pink.
