Ask Emily: Work Wear

Have you ever noticed the box at the bottom of the site that says "Got a Question? Ask Emily" well ask! Haha- if you are curious about lipstick, what to wear to a wedding, why I have this blog you read, whatever. I am an open book.So my friend Sarah asked me, where and what to shop for work clothes?! Really I think this is simple:  Save on pants, buy a few pairs of pants that are flattering and basic. For me, this is the J.Crew Pixie or whatever they call it now. I have 2 in black and navy and actaully got them at J.Crew Factory for I want to say $40!Now tops, that is where you pay more attention. Buy tops that don't have to be "work tops" now that "going out tops" are no longer a thing. Really a top you can wear with basic bitch pants can be worn with cute jeans and heels....right?! That really is my main piece of advice, versatile tops. Rid your self of having separate wardrobes for work and play. Yes, of course some things will never be able to go to the other side but all in all.So you save on the pants because you're never going to try and wear them outside of work, you get it?Any top no matter how "cool" will look boring and basic with these pants. So just rock the boring and basic from 9-5 until you can put on cuter bottoms.
