outfit: hipster hat
Hat: Gap (old, similar) // Sweater: Gap // Jeans: Frame // Shoes: Rag & Bone
So I have some news, Nashville has not only rubbed off on me in my dressing a little more hipster but the music scene has inspired me to find my voice. No, not in my writing but in my singing. Yes people I am starting my singing career. I don't want to talk too too much about it because it is just in the works right now but I will share as it happens. So to combine the two two Emilys, hipster and artist, Zipporah and I decided to do a indoor shoot for not only the blog but my album. It was inspired by a picture of Zosia Mammet/Shoshanna from her NYT interview months ago that always stuck in my head. I couldn't wait to share this with y'all and when I say this I mean the shoot not the news because JOKES ON YOU I am in NO way trying to become a singer here in Nashville. This would have been the perfect April Fools post but that would mean waiting a month to post this and that is just silly. But like how much do these pictures/outfit look like I am some {wannabe} cool hipster who is in a band that is only popular among music lovers and not mainstream because we don't want to be but when we become mainstream we will go to Grammys in style and act too cool for school and then geek out over JT. The whole time we were shooting thought we kept joking about it felt like a music video or something.
Ok ok if you're not laughing I am sorry I will never attempt a joke again, please comment making me aware. Moving on to the clothes...Frame Denim is the best denim right now in my eyes (despite recent J.Crew jeans post). They have that true denim feel, no 'are these jeans or leggings with a pocket?' It is hard to see in these pictures but this particular pair in a more relaxed fit skinny, no unflattering BF jean but not super skinny.
