Beauty- Hair Chat pt.1
Okay I am FINALLY going to talk about hair, my hair and what I do on here. I am starting small and basic because I need to figure out the best way to video/photograph how I blow it out ect. so if you have any suggestions or more details on what you want to see please please comment!
So to start I am going to tell you about my products. Wait let me back up, I only wash my hair every 7-10 days..I have been known to go longer or fewer depending on the weather and if I am working out often. Because of that using a ton of products isn't in my best interest because I need my hair to last.
Step One: Heat Protectant: I use the one from DryBar and like it fine. I would recommend only using it on the hair that would be in a ponytail and avoid deep in your roots.
I guess that is actually my only prep step before blowdrying...kinda boring sorry! The first day of clean hair isn't my best, mainly because I get lazy half way through and ditch the round brush creating a huge fluffy mess. But even if I did blow it dry in small sections with a round brush my 'clean hair' doesn't hold style. Usually I leave it in a pulled back bun for a day or two until it builds up some natural oils. When I need to style it the very next day or two I use Bumble & Bumble City Swept Finish after I curl it. This product is a mix of hair spray and texturizing spray. Again, I don't reccomend using a lot of any of these sprays if you are trying to have your blow out last days. Mainly because I find that it tends to build up and if I spray too much my hair ends up feeling gross and product heavy by day 3/4 and I need it to last until day 7 minimum haha.
Dry Shampoo is my best friend...but only when I really need it! I have tried SOO many dry shampoos and my main complaint is it feels ashy. Does that make sense? I like Bumble&Bumble's Pret a Powder but I think my #1 is Psssst. I believe Pssssst is one of the first dry shampoos out there, it doesn't smell, doesn't leave my hair white and doesn't leave too much of a texture. I try to use it only in the last few days because once you start you cant stop haha. Using it at night has worked best because I enjoy feeling like I woke up with cleaner hair, like magic haha!
Oh I guess shampoo and conditioner are a thing....I don't really use a special shampoo just one that is sulfate free and I highly reccomend washing your hair a minimum of 2 times, 3 if you have the time! That might sound soo weird, but for me at least the first time I shampoo it doesn't even sud! I do use a conditioning mask every time I wash my hair. If a mask freaks out I would just say to leave a thick layer of conditioner in your hair (again only what would be in a pony tail) for as long as you can. Shave and do everything else during this time!
